There are plenty of hotels to choose from in Sydney[1], but few offer breathtaking views like those at the Four Seasons[2]. The luxe hotel[3]—situated in the heart of The Rocks, one of Sydney’s most historic neighborhoods—overlooks the iconic Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

Inside the property’s striking three-level atrium, you’ll find PEI Modern, a new “bistronomie”-style restaurant with acclaimed Australian chef Mark Best at the helm. The restaurant is consistently buzzing—in the morning, guests order fluffy omelettes stuffed with fresh produce; by night, they’re indulging in Wagyu flat-iron steak and broccolini with fermented chili and almonds.

Despite the Four Seasons Sydney’s large size—there are 531 rooms on the property—it still manages to feel intimate, with the same personalized service you’d get at a small boutique. We caught up with the hotel’s General Manager Rudolf van Dijk to find out which rooms are most popular with guests. He offers an insider’s perspective below.

The wow factor, luxury and comfort.  Set on the 34^th floor, the Presidential Suite features an elegant four-poster bed, soft Roman blinds, rich parquetry floors and a decadent over-sized central bathtub that boasts the best views in Sydney.

Fun fact:
The hotel was built on the site of the first Australian convict settlement. When Captain Arthur Phillip landed in Sydney Cove on January 26, 1788 he led his forces ashore and more than 700 convicts pitched their tents on the site that is now the polished granite lobby floor of Four Seasons Hotel Sydney.
