Room Request! SLS Beverly Hills

When the chic SLS Beverly Hills[1] opened its doors in 2008, it aimed to combine the luxury of a five-star property with the trendiness of a boutique hotel. Entrepreneur Sam Nazarian, the developer behind the SLS, accomplished just that—and then some. With the help of an all-star team of tastemakers—like chef José Andrés (who helmed the bar and restaurant) and designer Phillipe Starck[2] (who designed the hotel’s 297 rooms)—the SLS has cemented its place as one of L.A.’s most in-demand hotels. But which room do guests most often request? The property’s General Manager, Xavier Moulin, weighs in.

Most requested room in the hotel:
“Guests love our balcony suites, as many of them are traveling to L.A. to take in the weather. The Balcony Suites allow for an outdoor space as well as a city view.”

What makes it special:
“The suite is over 700 square feet. It has a small private balcony with sweeping views of the Beverly Hills and Hollywood skylines. You can even catch a rare glimpse of the Hollywood sign from your own balcony. The rooms have a spacious foyer with custom art installation and are also furnished with a 17-inch iMac desktop computer and a Bose surround sound stereo system.”

Your personal favorite:
“I personally love our SLS Suites.”

Because…
“All of our rooms are designed by Phillipe Starck, creating a unique and over-the-top experience no matter what room you’re in. However, the 1,000-square-foot SLS Suite is simply incredible.”

Celebrity Guests:
“Being in the center of Los Angeles, some of Hollywood’s finest have visited the property and with awards season right around the corner, I’m sure we’ll continue to see many of these stars.”

The rate:
“Our Balcony Suite averages $569 per night.”

Fun Fact:
“The SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills is a unique collaboration between owner Sam Nazarian, Culinary Director José Andrés and designer Phillipe Starck. The trifecta creates a new paradigm for the modern global traveler.”
