Sipping on a light and refreshing apéritif—or aperitivo in Italian—ahead of dinner isn’t just for Europeans. In fact, the custom is suitable for anyone seeking a light and refreshing lead-in to a meal. Below, DuJour snagged the recipe for a divine appetite-whetting brew, courtesy of NoHo gem il Buco Alimentari[1].
“The Rosato Spritz is beautifully playful on the palate with the fragrance of a fresh rose garden,” said il Buco Alimentari Bar Manager Jon Howard. “I wanted guests to be transported away from the cement streets to a perfumed garden of beautiful red roses.”
Here’s what you’ll need.
ROSATO SPRITZ
2 oz. Cocchi Americano Rosa
½ oz. Maraschino liqueur
Top with Prosecco
In a wine glass, add the spirits and a scoop of ice. Top with prosecco and garnish with fresh rose hips and a mist of rose water.
