It’s out with the old, in with the new at Florida’s iconic Ritz-Carlton, Naples, which recently completed a multimillion-dollar re-mastering that overhauled all 450 guest rooms and suites as well as its three dining outlets (Terrazza, The Grill and Dusk). Designed by Wimberly Interiors, the new guest rooms and common areas are reminiscent of a luxurious residential beach home, with a muted color palette of greens, grays and blues. The 20-acre Gulf of Mexico beachfront property truly is a first-rate getaway: white sand beaches, serene water, two pools (and a mineral pool at the massive spa), seven restaurants, world-class golf and an interactive kids club program.
On one recent visit, the deep-tissue massage at the tranquil spa kicked off a relaxing weekend of casual outdoor dining (Gumbo Limbo), a decadent steak meal (The Grill, pictured below), long days at the beach and pools and a weekend’s worth of restful slumber in the uber-comfortable, plush guest room beds. The rooms and suites have been tastefully renovated to reflect a beachier, yet still very luxe, feel and the views from our 7th floor room were unobstructed.

The Grill and The Ritz-Carlton, Naples
Our favorite amenity? Access to the Club Level lounge on the 14th floor, where an expert staff of personal concierge tended to every need (from special dietary requests—our traveling partner was on a strict vegan diet—to delicious iced Americanos in the morning, every newspaper imaginable and a humidor full of cookies!). The service all around was top-notch: The restaurant called to let us know when our table for dinner at The Grill was ready, they gave us a jogging map and Lynne at the beach took care of our umbrella and beach chair needs. All in all, a wonderful respite from the brutal New York City winter—and an easy three-hour flight. Below, Edward V. Staros, Vice President and Managing Director for The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples, tells us about the most sought-after room on the property.
The most in demand rooms in the hotel:
“The Club Suite is consistently one of the most requested rooms at the resort.”

Your personal favorite:
“The resort’s two Presidential Suites, located on the Club Level, are personally my favorite rooms.”

A Presidential Suite
Because…
“They are the epitome of luxury. During our summer renovation these rooms were updated to include a media center with a tablet-controlled lighting and sound system that can be enjoyed throughout the suite, even in the shower. The separate living area features hand-tufted area rugs and Murano glass chandeliers.”
