Drink DuJour: Instant Classic

The Dead Rabbit’s mixologist has a way with cocktails. Her after-work drink of choice, here

There’s perhaps no better way to celebrate International Women’s Day (on March 8) than with a cocktail prepared by one of New York’s top mixologists, Pamela Wiznitzer. She’s been serving delicious and innovative drinks since 2006, when she discovered her hidden passion for bartending. “I turned to it as a way to make rent and grew to love the profession,” she says. “I quickly learned that being an accomplished mixologist is a fine feat, but being a fantastic bartender was much more difficult to achieve.”

She currently mixes things up at The Dead Rabbit where she gets to craft “beautiful pieces of art in a glass,” like the appropriately named Around the Corner. A combination of boutique whisky, Compass Box, chartreuse and Lillet Blanc is perfect for an after-work gathering or just relaxing with friends.

AROUND THE CORNER

1.75oz Compass Box Great King Street
.5 oz Lillet Blanc
.5 oz Benedictine
.5 oz yellow chartreuse
2 dashes lemon bitters

Stir and serve straight up with a twist of lemon, preferably in a Delmonico glass.
