Nestled beneath the slopes of Utah’s famous mountains, Montage Deer Valley[1] is coveted by skiers and snowboarders—as well as those of us who skip directly to the après ski activities. Indeed, if hitting the slopes[2] isn’t on your agenda, you’re welcome to unwind at Spa Montage[3], the largest spa in Utah, complete with an indoor mosaic pool, saunas, whirlpools and steam rooms.
But with 154 guestrooms and 66 suites, all equipped with a fireplace and personal balcony, which room at the Montage Deer Valley reigns supreme? And what happens when Sundance rolls around? Below, a hotel insider gave us the scoop.
Most requested room in the hotel:
“Alpine Suite 680.”
What makes it special:
“Entertaining is the name of the game during Sundance, and this suite is the ultimate venue to host a private soiree. With a separate galley-style kitchen that can be accessed from an outdoor hallway, the suite is set up for Montage chefs to create bites and wine or whiskey pairings without disturbing guests. The living room area is furnished with sumptuous leather sofas and flat-screen televisions. An it’s the only specialty suite on the entire resort with its own walk-out patio overlooking the hotel’s Alpine Pool Deck. The patio is large enough for 20 guests to relax al fresco.”
The rate:
Rates are $3,715 per night for one king bedroom; $5,180 for two bedrooms.
What about during Sundance?
“Each evening during the opening weekend of Sundance, the hotel’s Vista Lounge features live performances from acts like KT Tunstall, Matisyahu and country artist Luke Bryan.”
Fun fact:
“Besides a sushi bar and a pub with a four-lane regulation bowling alley, this season—the hotel opens a burger bar with the state’s largest collection of bourbons and whiskeys.”
