While the Mandarin Oriental[1] always boats Eastern flair, the Atlanta outpost of the high-end hotel group is also steeped in Southern Hospitality. Located in the city’s tony Buckhead neighborhood, the high-rise hotel offers proximity to any number of lively restaurants and high-end shops, but what might be most attractive about the property is the sense of calm it keeps in the center of the hustle and bustle. From the gracious rooms to the hushed lobby and serene spa, the hotel offers a well appointed getaway from the busy world outside—but there’s also complimentary car service for when you decide to take advantage of that as well.
Below, General Manager Robert Lowe shares the inside scoop on the luxury destination’s most popular room.
The most requested room:
Mandarin Terrace Room
What makes it so special:
This is our largest room, where guests can enjoy breakfast, cocktails or even an alfresco dinner on a private balcony overlooking the Buckhead skyline. The light and airy interiors are finished with the elegance of a stunning Atlanta residence. Fitted with a king bed and a mix of grey velvet soft chairs and dark wood furnishings, bedrooms enjoy a sense of subtle luxury. Finished in smooth white marble, bathrooms are city sanctuaries, with a deep soaking tub, walk-in shower and elegant twin vanity area.
The rate:
$585 per night.
Your personal favorite:
The Mandarin Suite.
Because…
It is spectacular in both design and size. The suite boasts 11-foot ceilings and two spacious balconies from where guests can admire panoramic views of the Atlanta skyline. It is also the largest suite in the hotel and the only one with a fireplace.
Celebrity Guests:
We host a lot of film productions at the hotel and many Hollywood A-list celebrities and musicians choose to stay with us. We have hosted the filming of Identity Theft and the talent from The Hunger Games stayed with us during their filming.
Fun fact:
We have a creative Little Fans program for children, complete with a scavenger hunt throughout the hotel and all children receive a MiniMO plush panda toy. We also offer a special pet amenities program for all of our Furry Fans including a doggy dental kit, organic dog bones, welcome letter for the pup and more.
