Room Request! Le Bristol Paris

No one masters the art of “chic” quite like the French—and Le Bristol Paris[1] is living proof. The luxe hotel is located in the heart of Paris’ impossibly elegant rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and boasts a 3-Michelin-star restaurant, Epicure, (as well as a 1-star, 114 Faubourg) and a La Prairie spa. But the true standout at Le Bristol is the rooms, of which there are 188. One of the suites—the hotel’s most requested—comes with gorgeous panoramic views and more. Didier Le Calvez, the hotel’s President and General Manager offers a glimpse inside.

Most requested room in the hotel:
The Panoramic Suite

What makes it special:
In the Panoramic Suite, the whole city stretches out in front of you: Montmartre, the Opéra… The City of Lights is all yours. The 1,725-square-foot suite is an authentic Parisian apartment clad in soft browns, ivory and honey colors. It is decorated with paintings by French masters, antique mirrors and Louis XV furniture. It even has its own small flower-filled terrace which echoes the garden it overlooks. It also includes a private gym, a kitchen and a sunny bathroom fitted with twin basins, a bidet and a separate shower. It can be connected to a second bedroom to provide a maximum surface area of 2,155 square feet.

Your personal favorite:
The Honeymoon Suite, a new signature suite that was recently added.

Because…
I especially enjoy this suite’s bathrooms which are huge and bathed with natural light. The Honeymoon Suite is located on the eighth and top floor and overlooks the highly fashionable rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, with a panoramic view over the capital’s most beautiful monuments. It has a sloping ceiling and features amagnificent oak parquet floor with a chevron pattern. It measures 2,530 square feet and comprises an enormous sitting room, an elegant bedroom with two dressing areas and a connecting bathroom with a steam shower and spacious bath. It also be connected to a second bedroom which has a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower. When I arrived to Le Bristol in 2010, I wanted to create a real Parisian apartment to give our guests the opportunity to feel Parisianduring their stay. There was no Signature suite with a panoramic view on the rooftop and the Eiffel Tower, so we built the Honeymoon Suite in October 2011.

The rate:
1 bedroom and 1 living room: € 10 000 (or $13,800); 2 bedrooms and 1 living room: € 11,250 (or $15,500)

Fun fact:
The Panoramic Suite was used as a set for the movie Midnight in Paris by Woody Allen. Also, the Second World War, Le Bristol, being the only hotel with an anti-gas shelter, signed an agreement with the United States Embassy and became the official residence for all American citizens in Paris at the time.
