Room Request! Jumeirah Etihad Towers

There are few places that understand luxury quite like the United Arab Emirates[1], and Jumeirah at Etihad Towers[2] in Abu Dhabi is no exception. The over-the-top elegance starts from the moment guests step foot through the hotel’s sliding glass doors. Inside, hanging from the ceiling, are 12 massive crystal ball sculptures, part of an installation that took four months to install and 28,000 hours to create.

The rooms and suites are equally opulent, furnished with more Italian marble than a Tuscan quarry. And the bathrooms, too, are awe-inspiring in their own right: soak in the free-standing tub and you’ll find yourself pressed up against a floor-to-ceiling window, with sky-high views of the Arabian Gulf. The hotel opened in 2011 and has since become a recognizable facet of Abu Dhabi’s skyline. It’s also secured a place in popular culture: the five sprawling towers served as a location for the 2015 film The Fast and The Furious 7.

Over the past five years, Etihad Towers has welcomed an impressive roster of A-listers, ranging from 50 Cent to Bill Clinton. We asked Stefan Fuchs, the hotel’s general manager, to give us a peek inside the room that celebrities and guests request most often.

The most requested room:
Our Club rooms (Deluxe Club and Club Suites) are the most popular.

What makes it so special:
The Club rooms range in size from 430 square feet to more than 1,000 square-feet, all with a chic, contemporary design. They’re furnished with Italian marble, hand-tufted carpets and rich timber veneers. Additionally, sunlit bathrooms with walk-in showers and free standing “Baths with a View” uniquely provide privacy with stunning views of Abu Dhabi[3].

Celebrity guests:
Since the opening of the hotel, there have been many celebrity visits including Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Daryl Hannah, Dannii Minogue, Rory McIlroy, Vin Diesel and many more. We recently welcomed rapper 50 Cent, who stayed at the hotel during Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend. Tyrese Gibson is also a regular guest.

The rate:
Our Deluxe Club Rooms are around $330 per night.

Your personal favorite:
I particularly like our two Etihad Suites and Sky suite.

Because…
They have extraordinary space, custom furnishings and refined luxury, which provide an ultimate urban lifestyle experience in Abu Dhabi.

Fun facts:
Our Observation Deck at 300 is the highest vantage point in Abu Dhabi offering visitors a 360–degree panoramic views at 984 feet high. Guests get an uninterrupted bird’s eye perspective of the city’s skyline, the Corniche and Arabian Gulf. Our crystal installations required 20 specialists from the Czech Republic to install, and took four months to create. One of the sculptures alone weighs 12 tons.
