“They’re real, and they’re spectacular!”

Gooding & Company, the rare and vintage automotive auction house, announced this week that a selection of consignments from the Jerry Seinfeld Collection will go to the highest bidder(s) when they go on the block on March 11.

“I’ve never bought a car as an investment,” says Seinfeld—a noted car collector [1]and host of the popular web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee[2], which recently featured President Obama as a guest—in a statement. “I don’t really even think of myself as a collector. I just love cars. And I still love these cars. But it’s time to send some of them back into the world, for someone else to enjoy, as I have.”

The group of individual lots comprises three historic Porsches[3]: a 1955 550 Spyder (estimate: $5 million – $6 million), 1958 356 A 1500 GS/GT Carrera Speedster (estimate: $2 million – $2.5 million) and 1974 911 Carrera 3.0 IROC RSR ($1.2 million – $1.5 million).

“Jerry’s keen eye for significant Porsches, the care and pride he takes in maintaining his spectacular collection and his enthusiasm and passion for the Porsche marque, makes this one of our most thrilling sales in our company’s history,” says David Gooding, president of the auction house, in a release.
