Drink DuJour: Fall Into Italy

Brooklyn cocktail bar August Laura’s answer to Autumn

Avoiding pumpkin overload is key to thoroughly enjoying the flavors of fall. Fortunately, a quaint, Italian-inspired cocktail bar called August Laura in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn offers a delicious autumnal alternative complete with an orange hue.

Created by bartender Sofia Present, the Fall Into Italy plays with bitter Italian flavors perfect for sipping on a crisp New York day. “With the flavors of the Averna and hint of chocolate notes, it moves the drinking experience to late summer, early fall,” says Present. “Still refreshing but with a warmer and rounder balance. Just like we have at August Laura, the drink has a connection with the Italian world of drinking, but takes it to the here and now.”
