If you’re looking for the perfect end-of-summer cocktail, your search ends here. Created by Paul Sevigny, Miami-based expert mixologist, Disaronno‘s Operetta Punch is fruity and refreshing—and still retains that soothing amaretto taste the brand is known for. “I have always been fascinated with the creation of new flavors and ideas,” says Sevigny. After 15 years in the drinks business, we’ll trust his judgment. Below, a quick chat with Sevigny and his recipe for the Operetta Punch.
What’s the first cocktail you loved?
The Tom Collins—my grandfather used to drink them. He was a huge gin fan, and he would always give me a little taste.
Is there one drink you’re always making behind the bar?
Not really. I try to find out what my customer likes and go from there. Usually if I ask the right questions, I can make a go-to drink every time.
What are your favorite bars?
I tend to like low-key dive bars. When you’re making craft-style drinks for a living, you tend to want to hang out somewhere different. Just give me a cold beer, a tequila back, and some great tunes.
What are you doing this weekend?
Taking some time off and spending it with my family. It’ll be a much deserved vacation from all of the traveling spreading the mixology love!
