Drink DuJour: Death Star

If Sushi Roxx[1] isn’t on your radar, it definitely should be. The Japanese dining-nightclub hybrid–adorned with spinning disco balls and geisha Pop Art—is a go-to destination for delicious food and cocktails served up by waiters who sing to the tunes of today’s top 40 hits with a choreographed dance to match. It’s a rowdy performance you won’t soon forget. In fact, you’ll likely be tempted to rise up off your chair and get in on the action, but you’d better do so with a drink in hand.

Below, DuJour snagged the recipe for a cocktail that, according to mixologist Gary Wallach, “isn’t what you’d typically find in a sushi bar.”

Do you sense a theme here?

DEATH STAR

1/4 oz. Fresh lime juice
1/4 oz. Kalamansi purée
1/2 oz. Homemade lychee syrup
1/2 oz. Homemade ginger syrup
1½ oz. Absolut Elyx
3 Shiso leaves

Add two shiso leaves and the rest of the ingredients into a tin. Shake and strain into a rocks glass with crushed ice. Garnish with a shiso leaf and a ginger candy.
