Cocktail DuJour : The Blueberry Lemonade

“The Blueberry Lemonade has been a staple on our artisanal cocktail menu for a number of years,” Kevin O’Reilly, a bartender at the Castle Hill Inn[1] in the very summery town of Newport, Rhode Island[2], says. This libation celebrates not just the season, but the unique flavors that Newport and the surrounding area add to it.

“The cocktail pays homage to summer on The Lawn at Castle Hill and the nostalgia of lemonade,” O’Reilly says, “mixed in with the mid-summer’s harvest of blueberries on Aquidneck Island from our local purveyors.”

And if that doesn’t sound like summer, we don’t know what does.

How to make a Blueberry Lemonade:

1.5 oz. Stolichnaya Blueberry

1 oz fresh, whole blueberries, muddled

.25 oz. St. Germain

Juice from one lemon wedge

Lemonade to fill a glass

Garnish with a lemon slice.
