David Kind Eyeglasses

For the longest time, I was a devotee of chunky nerd glasses from New York’s legendary Moscot. And while I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for their frames—which have been worn by everyone from Henry Kissinger to Truman Capote—I recently got my first pair from web upstart David Kind and I couldn’t be happier. I uploaded a photo of my face and one of their staff stylists helped me pick out frames that suit me. I walked away with a pair of round, clear frames I never would have picked for myself but that I’m totally crazy about. Next up: summer sunglasses, and I know exactly where I’ll be going to get them.

The Antlers’ “Familiars”

This is the new record, out next week, from one of my favorite New York bands. The opening track, “Palace,” is a total stunner, and the rest of the album holds up as well; it’s a lush, mopey collection of songs perfect for a gloomy June or any of the subsequent months when it’ll surely be on repeat.

Hario Mizudashi Cold Brew Coffee Pot

It’s summer time and my iced coffee consumption is off the charts. But this year, instead of running to the corner coffee shop every time I need a fix, I’m brewing at home with this exceedingly easy, not-bad-to-look-at carafe, which makes a super-sized batch of coffee that I don’t need to leave the house to get.
