While the northeast may be off to a blizzardy vernal equinox, Van Cleef & Arpels’s spring collection packs enough yellow and gold to rival the sun’s rays. The nine-piece Frivole collection, unveiled yesterday at the maison’s Fifth Avenue flagship, was forged in nature’s image, boasting a floral motif throughout. Affixed to rings, earrings and necklaces, the gold and diamond, six-petal pendants were designed to allow light to pass through them. While the name “Frivole” may imply excess, the collection’s elegant, organic shapes and miniature dimensions make it a must-have staple for any jewelry buff’s collection—whether or not the sun ever decides to come out.
