Priyanka Chopra Jonas Honors Christian Louboutin
To kick off NYFW, the 2019 Couture Council celebrated the esteemed designer and raised over $1 million for The Museum at FIT

The luxury designer has become notorious for his red-bottomed shoes, but at this year’s Couture Council luncheon honoring Christian Louboutin, it was obvious that the man has made an impact on the world far beyond his shoes. Priyanka Chopra Jonas presented Louboutin with the 2019 Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion and she praised the designer for his innovation, knowledge, and style. Priyanka began her remarks by quoting Marilyn Monroe saying, “Give a girl the right shoes, and you give a girl the world.”
Louboutin himself accepted the award and throughout his speech, he offered cheeky comments about spending time with Priyanka in Morocco, he respectfully thanked Nordstrom and FIT, and before wrapping it up, he got visibly emotional when addressing his beloved friend Diane Von Furstenberg. While thanking Von Furstenberg for her 30 years of support, he offered to share the award with her, adding, “I share it, but I keep it!”
