Kimika, a new Japanese-Italian restaurant, has a spacious and well-appointed outdoor dining terrace in Nolita. Chef Christine Lau’s summery menu includes dishes like grilled whole fava beans with sakura salt, grilled artichokes with nettle-miso cheese, pine nuts and focaccia panko, lamb involtini with ramps, cumin lamb tsukune, sunday red sauce and baby artichokes and sticky rice risotto with fresh bamboo, fiddlehead ferns and truffle spring veggie fricassee. Don’t leave without trying pastry chef Clarice Lam’s new desserts such as yakult soft serve with rhubarb compote, candied ginger, crispy chicken skin streusel and strawberry pocky pearls and a yinyeung tiramisu with espresso jelly, genmaicha cream, chocolate lady finger sponge, candied hazelnuts and cocoa kinako.
