7:45 am – I start the morning off with some granola cereal to prepare for a day with four performances of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. Here we go!
9:30 am – I arrive at Radio City Music Hall and enter through the stage door.
9:35 am – I sit down at my station in the dressing room to begin preparing for the shows. An important part of my routine is staying hydrated with water and Powerade, which provides electrolytes.
9:40 am – Before each show, I warm-up my body with a thorough stretch and a few minutes at the ballet barre. We perform in up to four shows per day, six days per week and the Christmas Spectacular is very athletic, so it’s important to make sure we take care of our bodies throughout the season.
10:30 am – Our dressers are the best! Donna helps me make sure my “Sleigh Ride” costume (the opening number of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular) is picture perfect and ready for the stage! What audience members might not know is that there are a ton of people backstage that set up the show and keep it running smoothly. We are just as choreographed backstage as we are on stage!
10:45 am – Alicia, one of my fellow Rockettes, and I are ready and excited to kick it on the Great Stage during our 11am show!
12:35 pm – It’s time for lunch! In between each show, it’s important that we eat a balanced meal to fuel our bodies for the next 90-minute high energy and high kicking performance! With this much activity, there is no need for us Rockettes to follow any type of holiday diet!
1:30 pm – Freshening-up my face between each show, especially the signature Rockette red lip and French twist.
4:00 pm – Ready to meet and greet families coming to watch the 5pm show. One million people come see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular each year – it’s such an honor to know that the Rockettes are such a big part of people’s Christmas traditions!
6:30 pm – So excited to have my friends in the audience! After the show I gave them a backstage tour and some of the red cheeks that we wear during the “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” and “Rag Dolls” numbers for the road.
9:30 pm – Finished performing the last show of the day and feeling incredibly blessed to be dancing on this iconic stage with my fellow Rockette sisters. The first time I performed at Radio City Music Hall it was definitely a dream come true and such an unforgettable memory!
11:45 pm – Back home, showered, fed, and ready for bed before I start another exciting day at the Music Hall!
