Jon Neidich and Golden Age Hospitality (The Nines, Le Crocodile, Ray’s and The Happiest Hour) have opened Le Dive, a bar-café on the Lower East Side. Inspired by Paris’ 10th and 11th arrondissement wine bars, the intimate indoor/outdoor space features terrazzo-like tiles, a scalloped awning-adorned facade, Venetian plaster walls, antique mirrors and other pieces sourced from Parisian flea markets. “With Le Dive, I set out to bring the best of Paris’s old and new cafe culture to New York,” says Neidich. “Designed to be versatile, our hope is that Le Dive is both a neighborhood hangout and a destination spot, where friends can gather in the early evening and linger long into the night, enjoying bottles of natural wine and small plates of food.” The international, natural wine list and cocktails, curated by beverage director Ashley Santoro, pair nicely with executive chef Nicole Gajadhar’s menu of traditional bistro dishes and small plates (think Niçoise salads, charcuterie, cheese and pâté).
