This is moi with my precious dog and companion, Foo Foo. We had just been to see an exhibit of Mondrian paintings and I fell so in love with one, I decided to wear it out of the museum! It definitely looks better on moi than it did on the wall.
This outfit, like so much of my wardrobe, was made for me by my personal couturier, Stefano of Hoboken. He’s exclusive to moi, so don’t even think of trying to steal him away. As for my day-to-day meals, I use the rich food diet: If someone rich is paying, eat the food.
I’ve totally blocked this shoot. I think that they shot Kermie and moi together, then photoshopped the rest of those guys in. (At least they were smart enough to keep me in the center of the picture!) Kermie is dressed well here, but I prefer the way he usually dresses—wearing nothing.
This picture was taken during the shooting of our very first movie, The Muppet Movie. Moi was still so new to Hollywood that I didn’t realize that one should never encourage paparazzi-in-helicopters by looking up.
I wear anything that adds to the Je ne sais quoi that is moi. If my own hair is not up to the job, then we bring in a wig. I have no compunctions about that…or about wearing false eyelashes…or having work done. I believe that when I look in the mirror, I should be surprised.
As for the dress: This is one of my favorites. It has the form-fitting bodice that draws attention to my incredible shape. And that glorious multicolored scarf is artfully poised for dropping, should Kermie—or a handsome co-star—walk by.
One word: diamonds. Lots and lots of them. I’m talking “walking jewelry store” here. The ring, the bracelet, the necklace, the earrings—all were made specifically for moi. When we shot Muppets Most Wanted, I had to travel with armed guards because apparently there’s a major criminal around stealing jewelry.
This picture was taken when we were on our way to the Oscars, where once again I was not nominated because certain members of the Academy are jealous. But I know someday soon—next year, for Muppets Most Wanted, may I suggest—I will be nominated and, of course, win the statue of that little golden man. Meanwhile, I’m quite happy with my little green frog.
