“I’ve had a lot of house slippers over the years. I’ve been given them, but I never wear them—they always end up staying under the bed somewhere. These I got a year ago at a store on Mulberry Street [in New York’s Nolita]. The fellow who owns the store is European and imports them. He wears them not just in his shop, but also as shoes. They’re easy to put on and very comfortable, cozy and attractive. You can wear them indoors and outdoors without worrying about them.”

“Cozy, comfortable or inviting for me is towards warmer colors, away from straight lines and more towards curves. There are only two shapes in the world: the straight line and the curve. So in this direction, everything goes curvy. This water filter is a great example of that. Water is sort of a luxury. It’s something we drink for health and wellbeing.
