"Nothing is a bigger gem than the High Line," says MPIA's co-chair of the city's public park. Although the district is most known for its nightlife scene the self-proclaimed "godmother" of the neighborhood says the area is more than just that. "It's a real neighborhood with cobblestones!"
Nicole and Michael Colovos:
The couple, who count the Standard Grill and the Chelsea Market as their favorite spots, predict the new area between the Whitney Museum and the West Side Highway will be the next big thing. "I used to be part of the Parks Department. Right on the West Side Highway they are going to build a really amazing addition to the Chelsea Market," Michael says. "We actually had our first show at that pier," adds Nicole, "I think that's going to be a new exciting place."
Andrew Rosen:
"I like to lunch at Macelleria. The hidden gem is just coming during the day, hanging out and eating food outside of the restaurants versus at night. Everyone comes at night but I really like it during the day."
