A New Twist on SodaStream

There are plenty of well-designed kitchen gadgets out there, but how many of them can also reduce your carbon footprint?

The new SodaStream[1] Source ($129.99)—which turns tap water into sparkling water with the push of a button—was created by award-winning designer and sustainability advocate Yves Béhar[2]. It has a sleek, colorful look and could keep the average thirsty household from buying (and discarding) 2,000 plastic seltzer bottles a year.

‘‘We’ve listened to what consumers want,” Daniel Birnbaum, CEO of SodaStream, says, “and Source delivers, bringing the best in design and usability. Above all, it’s a fun product.”
