From top to bottom, this striking 58-story glass-curtain tower, topped with a custom crown designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, has been meticulously thought out. And the project’s dream team of architects and designers—Eugene Kohn, David Mann, David Rockwell and Edmund Hollander—has incorporated premium facilities that suit the chic flair of its Tribeca environs.
In a neighborhood that is arguably already a big, open-air exercise bazaar, 111 Murray goes a few steps further, tapping into the desires of its future residents, who want immediate access to the ultimate in luxury fitness.
From the heated marble plinths in the Turkish-style hammam to the 75-foot lap pool, the building is cutting edge. With over 20,000 square feet dedicated to health and wellness, the property is filled with the latest equipment in the boutique fitness center, private yoga studios, sublime spa and perfectly crafted nail salon. 111 Murray Street also has spaces designated for younger inhabitants, with one of the first children’s pools in a New York City residential building.
Winston Fisher, one of the developers and an avid runner, believes the professional lap pool is a huge bonus for on-the-
go residents balancing their workout regimens with family time. “For someone who does triathlons, I love that there’s a lap pool. Then, at the same time, I’m a parent, so I’m really happy that we have a family pool,” explains Fisher. “Whatever amenity we put in, we won’t put in unless it can be correct and the best.”
And while 111 Murray is certainly a mecca for fitness, the architects’ detail-oriented design process can be seen throughout all of the other shared and private living spaces. As part of the seamless experience, residents can host both indoor and outdoor gatherings, with a catering kitchen on-site and the Edmund Hollander garden just steps away from their apartments. From the contemporary herringbone-patterned floors to the custom Molteni kitchen cabinets, the grand residences integrate comfort and style with features like private elevator entrances, walk-in closets and spacious balconies.
Sales launched last June, and already 65 percent of the units have been sold, with prices ranging from $2 million for a one bedroom to nearly $19 million for a five bedroom.
“This is a lifestyle, this private high-end ecosystem—simple and elegant,” Fisher says of the building. “There’s no gimmick here. Everything is luxury.”
