The Brightest Light Off Broadway: Josh Radnor

Before newlywed actor Josh Radnor (How I Met Your Mother) even read a word of The Ally[1], he knew he wanted to be a part of it. “It felt like a no-brainer. A new Itamar Moses play at The Public directed by Lila Neugebauer. Sign me up!” (Moses wrote the book for the musical The Band’s Visit; Neugebauer recently directed Appropriate with Sarah Paulson.) Then, Radnor actually read the script,  and “it walloped me,” he says. “Itamar is asking some of the biggest, thorniest questions about politics, activism, allyship and identity. It is a thoughtful, thrilling and passionate new play that speaks to the urgency of the current moment.”
