We love to indulge in a range of ear candy from radio pop hits to down and dirty dance beats. This week, we’re jamming to a throw-back from alt-rock band Plain White T’s while Nicki Minaj has graced us with a new single off her upcoming album Queen. With Troye Sivan teaming up with pop sensation Ariana Grande and festival-favorite Quinn XCII collaborating with Phoebe Ryan, our weekend playlist is ready to be played. Find all five of our top song releases from the week below.
1. “Your Body” by Plain White T’s
Any “Hey There, Dahlila” fans out there? Our favorite romantic rockers the Plain White T’s are back with another sweet single. “Your Body” is off their eighth studio album Parallel Universe and after one listen it’s stuck in our heads. The video compliments the track perfectly with a saccharine compilation of relationship moments.
2. “Dance to This” by Troye Sivan featuring Ariana Grande
As the third single off Sivan’s forthcoming album Bloom, this magnetic artist proves he has a range of musical talents to offer the world. “Dance to This” is expectedly a more synth-heavy dance track, laced with the powerhouse vocals from Ariana Grande. Until Bloom is released on August 31, fans can definitely dance to this.
3. “Middle Finger” by Phoebe Ryan featuring Quinn XCII
Singer-songwriter Phoebe Ryan joined forces with Detroit-native Quinn XCII for this dynamic bop that pulls on our heartstrings in all the right ways. The duo perfectly compliments each other while throwing shade at their exes. It’s a little bit like a post-breakup anthem that makes you feel really good.
4. “Superlove” by Whethan featuring Oh Wonder
Wunderkind DJ and producer Whethan teamed up with the duo Oh Wonder to create a captivating summer hit. With a catchy beat behind the upbeat vocals of Oh Wonder, “Superlove” can be the soundtrack to a beach party, dance party or really any party.
5. “Rich Sex” by Nicki Minaj featuring Lil Wayne
On the heels of announcing her joint tour with Future, Nicki Minaj proves she is a badass wordsmith. On “Rich Sex,” Minaj recruits rapper Lil Wayne to contribute a verse. Solidifying Minaj as a rap queen, “Rich Sex” is off her forthcoming album aptly called, Queen.
