Each week, there’s a fresh avalanche of films, books, theater, albums and art, enough for even the most culturally savvy to get lost in. But DuJour wants to narrow down the onslaught to the picks that what truly deserves your attention. Like this album…

Grammy-nominated musician Mika is releasing his third album, The Origin of Love, Oct. 17. It’s a collection of ridiculously catchy pop gems, including the irresistible title track (see the video below), as well as “Celebrate,” a high-octane collaboration with Pharrell Williams. If Mika had been released Origin a few months earlier, there’s no doubt it would have been the album of the summer. As it stands, it’s sure to brighten your fall and winter.

BRIT Award-winning Mika is already a huge star in the U.K. and with the release of this album—which will delight fans of Rufus Wainwright, Elton John or Robyn—it’s hard to imagine his success not replicating itself Stateside, where he’s on tour through October.
