Did They Really Just Say That?

An On and (Very) Off Affair

“In the United States, there is something big that is happening. […] An alleged affair between President Barack Obama and Beyoncé. First, there are still or television images of the Obama couple becoming a little distant. It is legitimate to ask questions. We found the same thing, always through images, between [French President] Hollande and [his partner Valerie Trierweiler]. Afterwards, there was the rumor. Same for Obama and Beyonce, for example. Just because it’s a rumor doesn’t mean that one should not go in the field to check. We should not forget Marilyn [Monroe] or Monica Lewinsky.”
A Parisian paparazzo‘s bizarre claim[1] comparing an affair the French president had with an actress to an alleged Obama and Beyonce scandal, published by reputable French newspaper Le Figaro (the statement was, of course, later retracted)

A Bigger Issue

“I never commented on Yeezus for my interview portion of Rolling Stone. They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue. I’m disgusted with that. RIP to Phillip [sic] Seymour Hoffman. All respect due. But the press is evil.”
Drake tweeting his disgust[2] at Rolling Stone for misquoting his thoughts on Kanye’s album in the latest issue and—whoa—replacing his cover with the late Philip Seymour Hoffman to boot. The tweets have since been deleted.

Animal Lover’s Nightmare

“Still can’t comprehend why the Danish zoo killed the beautiful young healthy giraffe. Yes, they had ‘reasons’–so did Nazi doctors.”
Author Joyce Carol Oats comparing[3] the Copenhagen Zoo’s decision to feed lions a two-year-old giraffe, though definitely distressing, to the Holocaust

Little Bit of Advice

“Though I admire and respect Hillary Clinton deeply, I must say: Don’t run, Hillary, don’t run.”
MSNBC host Krystal Ball throwing Hillary Clinton under the bus [4]during a segment, advising the former Secretary of State not to run so that a “real middle class champion” can (her vote? Massachusetts Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren)

Bromance Alert

“I like Tom Hardy’s balls. I mean not literally, I’ve never seen Tom Hardy’s balls, just for the record.”
Actor Jeremy Piven gushing[5] about his Hollywood crush in an interview with Fault magazine, clarifying that he actually meant, “he’s fearless”
