Homeland Kicks Off Season Two

A screening, cocktails and fireworks at the Intrepid in NYC started the TV show’s new season with a bang

Homeland stars Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, Morena Baccarin, Mandy Patinkin as well as the rest of the cast were on deck the evening of Sept. 7 at NYC’s Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum to celebrate the show’s highly-anticipated Season 2 premiere. Following red carpet photos and interviews, the stars stepped into the museum—which had been transformed into a pseudo-movie theater, complete with couches and projection screens—for a private screening of the episode, which will air on Showtime Sept. 30.

After the screening, which was hosted by Showtime and Time Warner Cable, the Homeland cast and other A-listers including Stephen Gaghan, Giancarlo Giammetti, Valentino, Bruce Weber, Les Moonves and Julie Chen headed to the Intrepid’s flight deck. The Hudson River served as the stunning backdrop for a fireworks display, while guests enjoyed Grey Goose cocktails, dumplings, sliders and mini-cupcakes (in honor of the occasion, they spelled out “Enjoy Homeland Better”).

DuJour magazine spoke to the cast on the red carpet, where they gave away a few tantalizing hints about what the season two holds. Check out the slideshow to find out what they had to say and to see other photos from the event.

And for those of you who couldn’t attend the screening, we don’t have any leftover cupcakes, but we do have something even better: a special clip showing the first 25 minutes of the season premiere. Watch it here:
