“My idea of a good picture is one that’s in focus and of a famous person” – Andy Warhol
Luckily for the Pop Art legend, he frequented ‘70s hot spot Studio 54[1], where on any given night Bianca Jagger, Liza Minnelli and a never-ending flock of models, artists, designers[2] and musicians could be found. Now, 215 of these iconic photographs, that fit Warhol’s own definition of “good” but most would consider great, are available for sale through the second Andy Warhol @ Christie’s online sale[3], from April 26th to May 3. (Proceeds from the sale will benefit The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts[4].)
Take a look in the DuJour gallery to see a preview of the photographs.
