On April 24, the Whitney Museum of American Art welcomed over 3,000 glittering guests to celebrate its new, Renzo Piano-designed space in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. The soirée, sponsored by Max Mara[1], was among the first chances for New York art[2] lovers to peek inside the long-awaited space—the exhibit America Is Hard To See is currently on view—and came complete with champagne, sunset views and music thanks to DJs Harley Viera-Newton, St. Vincent and Zoe Kravitz as well as live performers Tony Conrad and John Cale.

And while the art was undeniably the star of the show, the impressive array of attendees—including Luigi Maramotti, Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti, Sarah Jessica Parker, Solange Knowles and more—was a treat for the eyes as well. Click through the gallery to see inside the star-studded event.
