Tony Melillo’s New Knits

The editor-turned-designer shows off his new cashmere collection

Anthony Thomas Melillo is branching out.

The former fashion editor and CFDA nominee is expanding ATM, his line of T-shirts available at Barney’s New York stores, and offering new designs in cashmere.

“ATM cashmere should feel and look like the T,” he says, “lightweight and drapey.”

Melillo’s shirts will be available in the super-soft wool as will something new for the designer: sweaters.

“I did them as the natural extension of a T but in a luxurious yarn that makes them special,” he says. “The two sweaters for fall are the easiest layer pieces that helps build onto the ATM look.”

What’s the common thread among all of Melillo’s creations? As the designer himself tells us, they’re “relaxed and elegant.”
