Something’s brewing at the Carlyle[1] Hotel.
Every Saturday through Dec. 22, the Upper East Side classic is hosting its winter Madeline Tea Series, which features storyteller and musician Tina de Varon reading and performing the beloved Madeline stories for kids and their grown-up companions.
Besides entertainment from da Varon, the $70-per-person event includes a buffet of kid-friendly food served in the hotel’s famed Bemelmans Bar (below), which, appropriately enough, is decorated with murals that are the only surviving public work by Madeline author and illustrator Ludwig Bemelmans.
