ASPCA’s 16th annual Bergh Ball, which was held at the Plaza Hotel, attracted some of the organization’s most passionate supporters – and even transformed the city skyline to a bright orange hue.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg arrived arm-in-arm with his daughter, noted equestrienne and author Georgina, while designer Carolina Herrera, and makeup maven Olivia Chantecaille chatted with other animal-loving guests. “This is a special opportunity to help,” designer Isaac Mizrahi, who was the evening’s emcee, said. Although his 13-year-old dog Harry was unable to make it to the ball, five adorable – and adoptable – pit bull mixes from the organization’s shelter in Manhattan were present. Actress Lake Bell couldn’t help but steal a few hugs from the pups before sounds of a xylophone signaled it was time to for dinner.
