This past February, fashionistas were disappointed when they saw some fantastic tricked-up leather Coach bags on the runway—only to learn that they weren’t for sale. Well, this fall, they are[1].
Coach and Anna Sui have recently released two limited-edition bags, her updates of the brand’s iconic 1973 Duffle (see one of them, below). In honor of that partnership, we asked Sui to answer the DuJour questionnaire.
What was the best day of your life?
When I won the CFDA Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009.
The worst?
The day my Dad was in the hospital.
If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes, who would it be?
Barack Obama.
What’s your favorite hour of day?
8:30 AM—when I arrive at work before my staff…and I have quiet time to organize my day.
If you could relive any day in history, what would it be?
November 11th, 1918.
Did you break a sweat today?
Well…we just had a hurricane in New York, and since downtown lost all power…I’ve been walking up the stairs, 9 flights to my apartment!
What was the best conversation you had today?
I had a wonderful lunch with Ed Filipowski from the PR firm KCD that represents my line.
If you wore a uniform every day, what would it be?
Black.
