A Gala to Benefit Cancer Patients

On November 14, Max Mara and the Associates Committee of the Society Memorial Sloan-Kettering hosted a sold-out evening

More than 365 guests gathered at the Four Seasons Restaurant on Nov. 14 to benefit the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Blue Bloods actress Bridget Moynahan said she was glad to attend and lend her support: “Taking care of families during such a terrible time in their lives is very important.”

Honorary Chair Maria Giulia Maramotti of Max Mara was moved when she had a chance to meet with the mothers of some of the young pediatric cancer patients at MSKCC. “I was so touched and so thankful to actually be there,” she said. “To be linked to such an amazing project has been an honor more than anything else.”

DJ Harley Viera Newton spun metal and rock tunes as guests sipped on cocktails in the restaurant’s Grill Room. Later that evening, the crowd enjoyed a lavish three-course dinner of filet of lamb, chanterelle mushrooms and roasted new potatoes. The event raised more than $540,000, which will cover the costs of overnight stays for out-of-town families coming in for a loved one’s cancer treatment.
