On Sept. 7, Benedikt and Lauren Taschen celebrated acclaimed Aussie industrial designer Marc Newson at Taschen’s Beverly Hills store. Friends and admirers gathered as Newson signed copies of his highly anticipated collector’s edition book/tome (each costing $1000) which catalogs all of the designer’s works to date. “Benedikt and I started working on this project six or seven years ago and it became immediately clear that I could really only do this with him,” Newson explained. “I’ve created a book before, but not something of this size and scale, and I needed someone to let me do what I needed to do with my own vision.” Notable guests at the party included Sir Jony Ive (the British designer and Senior VP of design at Apple Inc), chef Wolfang Puck and Geilia Assefa, actress Maggie Grace and Gagosian Gallery Directo, Deborah McLeod.
