Aging Gracefully

The Mandarin Oriental hotel’s ballroom shined bright on November 3rd for the Carter Burden Center[1] for the Aging’s 43rd annual fundraiser gala. This year’s theme was “Banking on Aging: Helping to Secure the Future.” The New York-based organization promotes the wellbeing of seniors 60 and older through a continuum of services, advocacy and volunteer programs oriented to individual, family and community needs. Guests included such VIPs as board member Susan Burden, Macquarie’s Michael McLaughlin and Len McNally, the program director for the New York Community Trust—both gentlemen were honorees at the event.

Designers like B. Michael mingled with executives, volunteers and local luminaries at the dinner event. Attendees dined on filet mignon while hearing from honorees and some of those whom the Upper East Side-based Center has taken under its wing over the years and worked tirelessly to help as they age.

“The Center’s work for our community truly resonates with our employee base and has made it an organization that our New York employees feel passionately about being a part of,” says Margaret Grioli, VP of Corporate Communications and Employee Giving at Macy’s Inc. “We’re very happy to have formed such a fulfilling relationship with the dedicated people at Carter Burden.”
