Where to Shop in the Hamptons

Mecox Gardens
Situated on three acres in lovely Southampton, Mecox Gardens’ founding location will play host this summer to a unique “pool house” installation erected by Cocoon9, Chris Burch’s new prefab home design and construction company. Visitors to the store will be able to tour one of the venture’s prefabricated outdoor rooms—they also manufacture and sell (slightly) larger structures that are suitable for use as sleek, minimalist stand-alone homes-, perfect for more remote vacation properties[1]—each of which will be dolled up with decks, plants and gardens by the experts at Mecox. Interested customers will be able to purchase the entire kit and caboodle in one fell swoop; a pool house or garden room complete with landscaping makes for an instant backyard upgrade.

Inside 3×1 Southampton

3×1
A New York City-based luxury denim label founded in 2011 by Scott Morrison, 3×1 opens its second atelier in mid-May on Southampton’s Main Street. The 1,800-square-foot space, designed by Morrison, mimics the original SoHo location’s industrial look, compete with the iconic denim wall. In addition to the ready-to-wear line, the new shop will produce bespoke blue jeans on a speeded-up timeline to accommodate summer visitors in town for only a short vacation.

English Country Home and Antiques
Opened twenty years ago by a pair of British-born brothers—one of whom manned the shop while the other scoured their native land for stock—English Country Antiques is a Hamptons mainstay. Now the store, which has long been beloved by locals and visitors alike for its hard-to-beat selection of, yes, antiques from the English countryside, is branching out. Starting this summer, shoppers will be able to buy newly-made pieces as well as older finds; a line of modern furniture [4]includes gorgeous pieces like the glass expandable table pictured below.
