A Makeup Launch Worth Its Weight in Gold

Legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath finally releases her own creation

As a world-famous makeup artist and the Creative Design Director of Proctor & Gamble Beauty, Pat McGrath already has quite a full plate, but her most exciting project to date is still ahead. This Thursday, October 29, at 12pm, McGrath will fulfill the dreams of beauty enthusiasts everywhere by launching her very own pigment in an extremely limited quantity.

Gold 001 comes from the slightly mysterious Pat McGrath Labs, a way for the industry icon to whip up her very own creations. The metallic pigment was first seen on the lips of models at Prada’s spring 2016 runway show in Milan, and rumors swirled when the makeup artist then took the multipurpose product to the streets of Paris to use on passing pedestrians.

The pigment comes with a mixing agent and spatula to set into its second-life container, turning the loose contents into an easy-to-apply solid. The entire set is then packaged in a bag with couture sequins—gold, of course.

Only 1,000 will be available and it’s sure to sell out almost immediately, so keep your eyes on patmcgrath.com come Thursday or risk the devastating consequences of missing out.
