Vanilla and daffodil, jasmine and bergamot. The floral scents in combinations in L’Occitane en Provence[1]‘s new fragrance collection are somewhat surprising[2]. The French brand’s private perfumer Karine Dubreil developed each individual Eau de Toilette to channel the flowers that naturally grow in the south of France, balanced with the unexpected addition of perfumes from Asia or Africa, in the case of magnolia and vanilla, respectively. Thé Vert & Bigarade[3], this editor’s favorite, combines green tea and bitter orange, for a slightly spicy, natural scent, while Magnolia & Mûre[4] combines floral scents with blackberry for an elegant, dark fragrance. Perfectly light for spring, these scents won’t weigh you down.
La Collection de Grasse fragrances are available for $75 each at loccitane.com[5]. Also available is scented body milk, shower gel and soap.
