Celebrity nail guru Jin Soon Choi is taking manicure matters into her own hands with the debut of her first polish line, JINsoon. It consists of six classic shades in the Quintessential Collection and six seasonal shades in the A La Mode Collection.
“Having a nail polish line has long been a dream of mine,” says Choi, who calls the launch “the most logical next step in my career.”
Choi—whose work has been featured in the pages of Vogue, on A-listers like Sarah Jessica Parker and in ads for Prada—turned to six of her model muses, including Coco Rocha and Karlie Kloss, to provide the names for the polishes in the A La Mode group. Her inspiration for the shades ranges “from unique, beautiful vintage car colors to current, unusual shoe and handbag colors.”
“I’ve owned nail spas since 1999, and I’ve been a manicurist for runway shows, magazines, and fashion campaigns for more than 20 years,” says Choi. “Because of the ever-growing popularity of polish, I felt it was the appropriate time to introduce high fashion to savvy consumers.”
The shades will retail for $18 at select Sephora stores and Space NK retailers, beginning Sept. 12; they’ll also be available at Choi’s three New York salons.
