This 6,000-square-foot oasis has private treatment cabins with a gorgeous indoor garden that contain some 9,000 tropical plants. The ambiance bespeaks the salon’s specialty: botanical beauty. During personalized hair, skin and body treatments, aestheticians and stylists analyze particular skin challenges and infuse faces or tresses with naturally active ingredients to restore luster and shine. With choices like the Thirst Quencher (for dry hair), Botanical Bliss (for all hair types and scalp conditions) and the Intense Cleansing facial (which eliminates impurities and restores glow), clients can look forward to natural beauty at its best. Project Zen, San Francisco
Project Zen offers a soothing escape from the stresses of everyday life at both its San Francisco and Burlingame locations. With heated massage tables and cushy slippers for every client, the spa conveniently keeps their doors open until 9 p.m. on most nights. Eastern massages (done without oil and the client fully-clothed) focus on pressure points along the body’s energy lines. Performed on heated tables, Western styles include deep tissue and hot stone massages. These are Project Zen’s first locations in the U.S.; the original spa was opened in 2006 in Bangkok. All products used during their treatments are handmade from herbs, flowers and other natural ingredients from Thailand.
