Until she launched her eponymous line last year, British makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury[1] had to personally mix up batches of the product that would go on to become her Magic Cream[2] for fashion shows, film sets and celebrity clients like Kate Moss[3], Amal Clooney and Penelope Cruz. When she was finally ready to launch the Magic Cream as part of her brand, it sold out in the U.S. in seven minutes.

Why is moisturizer so important?

You can’t have a beautiful painting without a beautiful canvas. It’s important that you look after your skin properly, and having a good moisturizer is essential for this. Hydrated, well-moisturized skin will also help your makeup to last much longer.

How has your Magic Cream been a game changer for you?

My Magic Cream has a miracle-working effect, which creates the perfect base for a makeup look—I call it a push-up bra in a jar. What did you do before you created it?
