A Sky Lounge of a yacht in which the owner wanted a very bright, light and airy open space. He wanted lots of texture and a strong sense of contrast in the architectural millwork design.
The main receiving entrance for a yacht in which the owner requested a central staircase that connects all deck levels of the boat. The custom lighting fixture nestled in the spiral staircase spans over 35 feet—three and a half stories high—as one single, continuous fixture.
The Sky Lounge in which the owner requested a full service bar as well as an impressive wine cellar. The space was expected to be diverse: adults can enjoy a cocktail before dinner, and the seating area can transition to a theater space.
Here, the owner wanted a full shower as well as a freestanding tub, which had sheer drapes that would encircle the tub when in use. Also, the tub was placed on a pebble bed for a touch of Zen.
This is the forward portion of a massive Sun Deck. The owner had a young family and requested all activities and socializing be contained in one spot so that the children weren't separated from the adults. In this shot you see the bar, sun pads, hot tub as well as the kiddie pool.
This is the aft of the Bridge Deck. The owner requested a light and casual look—one that would complement the elegance of the raised panel teak Sky Lounge seen in the background. This space was also developed to seat 12 for meals and serve as a lounge for reading and for sunning.
The main salon is indicative of the rest of the yacht, which was a very clean beach house look. Plantation shutters as well as organically shaped pieces of furniture were used throughout. An interesting feature is the carpet, which is made of woven PVC, and is impervious to anything, including wine, food and sun tan oils!
In this master stateroom, the windows are concealed by hand carved wood panels in the theme of the four seasons (spring, summer, winter and fall). They also served as black outs. The doors to the bathrooms have inlays of hand-carved glass panels with silver leaf and painted details of modern women.
The master study featured a desk from the Louis XV estate as well as a beveled glass wall with semi-precious stone inlays.
