Can Mark Zuckerberg Create the World’s Smartest Robot?

The Facebook CEO aims to build artificial intelligence in 2016

Mark Zuckerberg has big plans for the New Year. The Facebook CEO took to the social networking site to declare his personal challenge for 2016, and it puts common resolutions, like dieting and exercising, to shame.

“My personal challenge for 2016 is to build a simple AI to run my home and help me with my work,” Zuckerberg announced to his followers. “You can think of it kind of like Jarvis in Iron Man.”

Zuckerberg wants to teach the robot to control everything in his home from music to temperature, answer the door for guests and check on his baby daughter Max when he’s not around. Pretty impressive, right? But that’s not all. Zuckerberg, whose previous annual vows included learning Mandarin and reading two books every month, will code the robot all on his own.

“It’s a different kind of rewarding to build things yourself,” he wrote. “So this year my personal challenge is to do that.”

The big question is: will the young billionaire become the real-life version of Marvel’s Tony Stark? We’ll have to wait and see.
