Bye Bye, Carly

Taking stock of the highs and (mostly) lows of Carly Fiorina’s campaign

The last woman standing in the GOP presidential race was, well, the only woman ever standing—but she took a seat this week when she ended her bid for leader of the free world. She says she doesn’t intend to put her feet up and sip daiquiris by the pool for long however, declaring her intentions to “continue to travel this country and fight for those Americans who refuse to settle for the way things are, and a status quo that no longer works for them.” Despite having blamed many of her political impediments on the fact that she is a woman, Fiorina didn’t express too much concern about helping out everyone the status quo has never exactly worked for—but we’ll let it slide since her memory seems to be a pretty slippery bar of soap these days. Last month she said that Hillary Clinton has “escaped prosecution more times than El Chapo.” In response to Fiorina’s past attacks on their candidate, Clinton’s campaign has gestured to a large sign hanging on the wall in their HQ, with one of their favorite inspirational quotes: “Women of every political party owe a debt of gratitude to Hillary Clinton. – Carly Fiorina.” So, in case Carly needs us to jog her memory, we threw together a little highlights reel from The Fiorina Affair (not available for streaming on Netflix, or anywhere else).
