Room Request! Amangani

Nestled in the mountains of Wyoming with sweeping views of the breathtaking landscape for miles, Amangani[1] is the first North American property in the Aman portfolio, and remains one of the most prestigious. In winter season, the resort comes alive with skiers, and you can find them cozying up in front of one of the property’s many fireplaces, sipping a cocktail after a long day on the slopes. The heated pool offers stunning views of the mountains and is quite picturesque as the steam rolls off the water and dissipates into the thin mountain air. In the summer season, the hills are vibrant with nature and outdoor activities abound. One thing that remains consistent year-round at Amangani is the luxury and first class service.

Below, Amangani’s General Manager, Stuart Lang, gives us a glimpse inside the property.

What makes it so special?

What is spectacular about Amangani is that in winter we are only 20 minutes from the slopes so guests can enjoy their time skiing before retreating to our resort away from the daily ski crowds.  Summer affords the opportunity to be surrounded by greenery and wilderness at the foot of the Teton Mountains.  Our close proximity to both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks means plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife in their natural habitats.  The hotel is timeless in design, however it is the caring staff that puts this property in a league of it own. We create an atmosphere where our guests feel well looked after and part of our family. Hard to put to words however, I see it everyday.

What is the nightly rate?

Rates start at $800 per night

What’s an interesting tidbit about the hotel that speaks to its status as an icon?

Amangani, meaning “peaceful home,” is the first Aman property in North America.  The resort clings to the crest of East Gros Ventre Butte some 7000 feet above the valley.  With floor-to-ceiling columns made of Oklahoma sand stone, ceilings and walls of clear-heart pacific redwood and chairs of rattan and woven cowhide, Amangani embraces the spirit of the American west.

What’s your personal favorite room?

A mirror image of our Grand Teton suite that is the often overlooked is the Gros Ventre suite, Suite 27. Top floor south wing. I love it.

How about one more fun fact about the property?

We are located on a migratory path for wintering mule deer and elk. Wildlife is abundant and our guests are in awe of seeing moose, deer, elk and fox outside their windows. I like to lead morning hikes on property, it is a good time spent getting to know and connect with guests.
