See why the revamped Inn at Perry Cabin is the perfect weekend escape from New York City

When people think about an escape from New York City, they tend to think of the Hamptons, Montauk, or the Catskills. But what about Maryland? Located in St. Michaels on the Chesapeake Bay, the Inn at Perry Cabin by Belmond is truly the perfect long-weekend getaway. (Yes, even if you’re not from the Big Apple.) With a new service available to “Skip the Bridge,” you can sail directly to the Inn aboard Five Star, the resort’s luxurious 55’ Hinckley Yacht, with champagne in hand. The 90-minute cruise departs from Edgewater, Maryland and sails directly to the hotel, with amazing views of the Bay Bridge, sailboats, and the scenic wildlife of the Chesapeake — all while skipping weekend traffic. (Bless.)

At the Inn at Perry Cabin – which you may recognize from scenes in the film Wedding Crashers – the key theme is relaxation. Charming details await, including a patio or balcony for each room where you can sip and lounge to your heart’s content. You can head to the pool, grab a drink, or take a boat ride out onto the water. The brand new 18-hole championship Pete Dye-designed golf course is ready for a game, while the (also brand new) Tennis Club by Cliff Drysdale is ready for a swing. (You can also take up a lesson or two with their on-premise tennis director Rob Wright.)

Savor your breakfast on the terrace of STARS overlooking the water, or enjoy the award-winning four-course chef’s tasting menu for dinner. (Or both. This is a mini vacation isn’t it?) Grab a drink at Purser’s Pub or by the pool, and live your best life. (Pssst…you can also take your drink to go so you can sip in style on your private patio. Not that I frequently did that or anything.)

Finally, make sure you hit the Linden Spa, where you can truly relax. Rooms start at $665. Make sure you get to booking.
